Arrivo Partners With Colorado Department Of Transportation And E-470 Public Highway Authority To Develop The First High Speed Super Urban Network

(MENAFNEditorial) DENVER, Nov. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --Today, the Colorado Department of Transportation, E-470 Public Highway Authority and Arrivo, a next generation transportation company, announce a public-private partnership to build the first ever high-speed Super Urban Network to service the greater Denver region. Arrivo's autonomous network is engineered to eliminate traffic by zipping vehicles at speeds up to 200 mph through a new, seamless layer of transportation that connects with existing roadways, city metros and automobiles. In addition, Arrivo is opening an Engineering and Test Center in Commerce City, CO. The facility will house a growing team of engineers and technicians building a full-system test track and additional R & D operations.

Arrivo's take on hyperloop transportation is focused on shorter, regional distances – a pressing challenge faced by many growing and urbanizing regions around the world, including Denver. The system uses only electric power to propel the vehicles and magnetic levitation to float the vehicles at high speeds. Multiple types of vehicles use the same dedicated infrastructure, allowing for high utilization and reduced user costs, including a vehicle which allows users to shuttle their own car through the system. The dedicated, automated lanes allow for very high throughput, with one lane of Arrivo doing the work of 5 – 10 freeway lanes. Denver's Super Urban Network by Arrivo will connect the entire region within 20 minutes of all destinations.

To begin the project, Arrivo and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will conduct a feasibility study for the first commercial leg connecting Denver International Airport to the Aurora Commerce Center. Arrivo plans to begin construction in 2019 and be operational as early as 2021, with this leg being a critical segment that can expand into the broader Denver Super Urban Network.
