Man sexually assaults tourist in car after spiking her drink in Dubai
In the Court of First Instance on Tuesday, the Comoros Islands passport holder deniedsexually assaulting a Norwegian tourist in the back seat of his friend's car.
According to public prosecution records, the incident took place last year onDecember 19, after the victim's drink had been spiked.
"We saw the complainant there. She told us she had met the men the day before, the accused being one of them, at a caf in a shopping centre. She went with them later to a bar in a hotel, where she claims someone spiked her drink".
She further added that the defendant removed her clothes and sexually assaulted her while in his friend's car, despite the latter's attempt to stop him from raping her.
The Norwegian woman reported them to the police after she was dropped at her hotel. The police tracked down the duo after reviewing the hotel's CCTV footage.
A report from the General Directorate of Criminal Evidenceshowed the defendant's DNA traces on the tourist's body. The trial was adjourned to December 20.
