Jordan- Guinean President visits Agriculture Ministry

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov 14 (Petra) -- Guinean President Alpha Conde and an accompanying delegation on Tuesday evening visited the Ministry of Agriculture and checked on the Jordanian experience in the field of agriculture.

Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Huneifat, briefed President Conde on the agricultural sector in Jordan, stages of its development and Jordan's expertise in water resources management and employment in agriculture.

Despite the drought and scarcity of resources, Jordan has achieved a high level of food security indicators and a high capacity to adapt to climate change and natural resources management, Huneifat underlined.

Huneifat noted that regional crises and forced migration constituted an additional burden on the Kingdom's natural resources, and have affected international trade routes.

The Guinean President commended the development in the field of agriculture despite the scarcity of water resources, expressing hope to open the door for joint cooperation in agricultural fields.
