Kuwait, Turkey seal numerous deals


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Nov 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwait and Turkey on Tuesday signed a number of agreements in a ceremony held at Bayan Palace with both nations' respective leaders in attendance.

The ceremony brought together His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and visiting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, where various deals were forged between Kuwait and Ankara.

Among the agreements was a deal for cooperation in sports, in which Kuwait's Minister of Commerce and Industry as well as Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan, along with his Turkish counterpart Osman Askin Bak were the signatories.

Meanwhile, a memorandum of understanding to encourage bilateral investment was signed by Director General of Kuwait's Direct Investment Promotion Authority Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Al-Sabah and president of Turkey's Investment Support and Promotion Agency Arda Ermut.

A protocol for cooperation between Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and Turkey's Scientific and Technological Research Council was also signed, where KISR's Director General Dr. Samira Omar and the president of the Turkish national agency professor Dr. Arif Ergin put their names on the dotted line.
