Jordan, UN discuss war against Daesh
AMMAN, 14th November, 2017 (WAM) -- Ayman Safadi, Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs of Jordan, on Monday met with UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Iraq, Jan Kubic, for a discussion on the latest developments in Iraq, especially the war against Daesh and ways to defuse tension between Iraqi central government and the Kurdistan region.
According to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Kubic briefed Al-Safadi on the UN's efforts to end the tension between Baghdad and the Kurdistan region after the September referendum on the independence of the Kurdistan region.
The Foreign Minister stressed the need to resolve the crisis through dialogue and according to the Iraqi Constitution's reference, in a way that preserves Iraq's unity, cohesion, security, stability and the rights of all its citizens.
