Oman- WCAS organizes workshop on 'Where There is a Dream, There is a Way' for MBA, EMBA, BBA students


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Waljat College of Applied Sciences organized workshop on 'Where There is a Dream, There is a Way' for MBA, EMBA, BBA students on 11th November 2017 at College premises.

The Dean of Waljat College of Applied Sciences, Prof. (Dr.) S L Gupta helped organize a workshop by acclaimed Author, award-winning Speaker, and IBM Accredited IT Professional from India – Ayan Pal titled 'Where There is a Dream, There is a Way'.

The workshop was started with introductory speech by Dr. Niraj Mishra, Head -Panning & International Relations.

With an aim to promote international quality education in Oman that prepares students for modern, high quality jobs, the workshops focused on the importance of achieving dreams for oneself and others. Emphasizing on the fact that the interpretation of dreams has been the subject of intense scrutiny for several centuries if not millennia, Mr. Pal went onto explain how our dreams and desires are the physical manifestations of sub-conscious conflicts.

Mr. Zaid Khalifa Said Al-Shekili, Assistant Dean(Admin & HR), WCAS, shared his experience about importance of dreams and hard work.

While highlighting the common barriers behind someone not achieving their dreams, Mr. Pal explained how we can overcome them using a three step process - Faith, Action, and Perseverance as exemplified by Steve Jobs, Lionel Messi / Cristiano Ronaldo, and Malala Yousafzai respectively.

The workshop was peppered with real life inspirational examples from Mr. Pal's own life that has led him to be recognized as one of the 50 most influential communicators and leaders worldwide, as per Toastmasters International, a non-profit educational organization headquartered in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.

From being on the verge of giving up, to slowly emerging as one of India' most respected and awarded contemporary authors, a mention in the Limca Book of Record's (the Indian equivalent to the Guinness Book of Records) under literature, to winning several international awards as an IT professional and speaker, Mr. Pal detailed how he had overcome obstacles to achieve his dreams.

Dr. P. Vijaya, Head Accademic Support Service thanked the resource person for presenting and enlightening session. Dr. Vijaya invited the weekend students to participated in the WCAS NSETEM'2017 Symposium.

The workshop was greatly appreciated by the students studying MBA, and Executive Weekend MBA and BBA respectively for its message, practical tips, and effectiveness. They also enjoyed the interactive sections where the participants together discussed their unfulfilled dreams, and identified ways to fulfill them going forward.

All the students and staff members were awarded participation certificates.
