MS Dhoni's retirement talks, who is saying what?

After his recent spate of performances against New Zealand in the three-match-T20I series, many have called for MS Dhoni's retirement from T20I cricket.
In response to the criticism, Dhoni, in his usual composed manner, said that "everybody has their own views in life."
Is it time for the former captain to step down? Let's see what these former cricketers think.
Laxman, Agarkar opine that Dhoni should make way for youngsters

Former Indian cricketers VVS Laxman, Ajit Agarkar, and Aakash Chopra expressed their views that MS Dhoni should make way for younger cricketers in the T20 format.
Agarkar after India's loss to NZ in the 2nd T20I said, "I think India must now look at other options, at least in the T20s...just as a batsman will India miss him, I don't think so."

MS Dhoni has been part of 90 Tests, 309 ODIs, and 83 T20Is, and has amassed 4876, 9826, and 1281 runs respectively in these formats. While he retired from Test cricket during 2014/15 tour of Australia, he stepped down as ODI captain in early 2017.

Backing MSD, former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar said, "Hardik Pandya getting out for one by not picking up a googly, we will not look at that. We will not look at the fact that openers didn't give the usual start. We will only point a finger at Dhoni. So that is India for you."
Ravi Shastri described those wanting Dhoni out as 'jealous.'

"I don't understand why people are pointing him out. If I fail as a batsman three times, no one is going to point fingers because I am not over 35. The guy (Dhoni) is fit and is passing all the tests," Kohli said about Dhoni.
Should he or shouldn't he?
Our take
Is Dhoni as effective as he used to be? No. Has his T20 form dropped drastically? No. Do selectors and Indian captain think that he should retire? No. Do we have a capable replacement to for Dhoni, the wicket-keeper batsman? Not exactly.
While it is easy to call for Dhoni's retirement, it is important to answer the above. Now you know what we think.
