Emirates Airline to buy 40 Boeing 787 Dreamliners


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DUBAI, Nov 12 (KUNA) -- Emirates Airline signed a USD-15 billion memorandum with the US Boeing aircraft manufacturer to buy 40 planes of 787 Dreamliner.

Emirates President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Maktoum, in a statement after the signing ceremony, held on sidelines of Dubai Air Show 2017, said the airliner would start receiving the Dreamliners in 2022.

The new planes, he said, would replace some existing aircraft "with the objective of maintaining efficiency of the fleet while the other part will be used to boost growth of our network." Sheikh Ahmad said Emirates has great confidence that the future of aviation sector in the UAE and the region would flourish.

The Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner is known for its fuel efficiency. (end) smr.bs
