ABU DHABI,Oct 7 (WAM) - Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Federal National Council (FNC/parliament), met separately with Nelson Yemil Chaben Labadie, Ambassador of Uruguay to the UAE, and Francisca Elizabeth Mendez Escobar, the Mexican Ambassador to the UAE, at the FNC headquarters.
Ahmed Shabib Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of the FNC, attended the meeting.
Dr. Al Qubaisi discussed with them ways to enhance cooperation in all domains, especially the activation of cooperation and parliamentary ties between FNC and parliaments of the two countries. They also confirmed the importance of exchanging parliamentary visits and expertise, coordination and consultations over various issues of mutual interest between the UAE, Uruguay and Mexico.
The audience confirmed the importance of boosting the existing cooperation in a number of topics of common interests, and at the same time, are witnessing a growing development. They also stressed the need to coordinate stances during their participation in the Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting that will be held in the middle of October in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The Uruguayan Ambassador highlighted the distinguished ties between the two countries and the two sides' keenness on developing them in all fields.
The Mexican Ambassador underlined the importance of exchanging parliamentary visits due to their role to enhance the existing ties between the UAE and Mexico. (WAM) (END/2017)
