ABU DHABI,Oct 25 (WAM) - Noura Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) General Women's Union (GWU), has said that the campaign ‘We Walk with Courage', organised by the GWU, in cooperation with Al Abeer Group, aims to raise awareness of the importance of the early detection of breast cancer.
She said that the campaign is part of a series of awareness programmes, which are based on the directives of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, to advise women about the importance of preventing this disease and monitoring overall health and nutrition.
She suggested that physical exercise is a good option to help combat this dangerous disease, adding that GWU organised an awareness walk at the ‘Mother of the UAE Park' as part of its efforts to prevent the spread of the disease among women and raising the importance of regular check-ups.
