Dubai roads to avoid today as Airshow traffic builds up


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Expect heavy traffic delay in roads leading to Al Maktoum International Airport due to the Dubai Airshow 2017, which opened on Sunday and set to end on Thursday, November 16.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), urged motorists to use Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Yalayis Street to avoid expected delays on Emirates Road, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Jebel Ali Lehbab, in the vicinity of Al Maktoum International Airport.

- RTA (@RTA_Dubai) RTA also suggests the motorists take public transport to the event. The public are advised to park their vehicles at Palm Jumeirah Monorail parking, buses will be provided Ibn Battuta Metro Station to Al Maktoum International Airport and vice versa.

To avoid any delays, we urge you to use modes. Shuttle buses will be available from Ibn Battuta Metro Station to Al Maktoum International Airport & vice versa.

- RTA (@RTA_Dubai) Meanwhile, multiple accidents on Sunday slowed down traffic on parts of Dubai's roads.

According to a popular local traffic monitoring page on Twitter, accidents were reported onSheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road towards Dubai causing added congestion to rush hour traffic.
