UAE keen to adopt future industry


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has attended part of the second annual meeting of the Global Future Councils organised in partnership between the UAE government and the World Economic Forum (WEF) - Davos.

During a meeting with the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum Professor Klaus Schwab, Sheikh Mohammed asserted that the UAE is keen on adopting the future industry by utilising the fourth industrial revolution technologies to benefit societies.

Sheikh Mohammed said that governments, international organisations and entrepreneurs should adopt a novel and flexible approach to address key future challenges.

"The UAE has embraced new technologies in its quest to revolutionise public services in key sectors," he added.

Underlining the importance of the annual meeting of the Global Future Councils, Sheikh Mohammed said the event plays a dynamic role in supporting the development of vital sectors affecting societies all over the world.

The meeting was attended by Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future Mohammed Al Gergawi, and a number of officials.

The two-day event, which kicked off on Saturday at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, will see participation of over 700 scholars and future experts from 75 countries. Attendees will convene in 35 councils, each of which addresses key issues in a vital strategic sector, and work to propose practical solutions for the challenges that are likely to arise.
