Nurse likely killed 100 patients in Germany


(MENAFN) A nurse serving life sentence for two murders is likely to have killed over 100 patients within many years at two hospitals in northwestern Germany.

According to prosecutors and police in Oldenburg, inspectors have finished toxicological testing on patients who died during Niels Hoegel's time as a nurse in hospitals in Oldenburg and Delmenhorst, and found 16 cases more in which he is suspected.

Prosecutors have stated again that predict to file other charges against Hoegel by the beginning of next year.

Hoegel had said during his trial back in 2015 he deliberately caused cardiac crises in about 90 patients in Delmenhorst because he enjoyed the feeling of being able to revive them, he later confessed of killing others in Oldenburg.
