ABU DHABI, 9th November, 2017 (WAM) -- Under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, launched the seventh edition of the Abu Dhabi Science Festival at the Khalifa Park today.
The festival, which will continue until 18th November, will hold some 71 entertainment, educational and participatory events that are designed to inculcate the spirit of innovation, and the love of knowledge among children in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Sheikh Nahyan toured the Khalifa Park, which is hosting the festival for the first time, as well as the Al Ain Zoo.
Sheikh Nahyan was accompanied on his tour by Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Education and Knowledge, and several officials.
Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi appreciated the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for giving importance to modern education, which is based on innovation and creativity and is focussed on real situations and total development, as well as his constant efforts to offer innovative ideas, which have been a source of inspiration for the upcoming generations, in addition to his sponsorship of several practical and suitable initiatives.
