Qatar, Czech Republic join hands to boost football

The Qatar Football Association (QFA) and the Football Association of the Czech Republic (FACR) signed a cooperation agreement at Al Bidda Tower in Doha, yesterday.
Prior to the signing ceremony, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the QFA received Roman Berbr, Second Vice President of the FACR, Rudolf Řepka, FACR General Secretary, and FACR delegation in his office to discuss matters of mutual interest while stressing on the importance of building on the relationship between the two associations and developing it further in the future for the mutual benefit of both parties.
FACR is visiting the Qatari capital Doha to attend various activities, which will culminate with the friendly match between the Czech Republic national team and Qatar national team tomorrow at 7:30pm at Al Duhail Stadium.
The QFA has signed the agreement with the FACR as part of its ongoing strategy to develop football in Qatar and enhance its relationship with its various Asian and European counterparts.
Following the meeting, the QFA Vice President Saoud Al Mohannadi and Roman Berbr, Second Vice President of the FACR inked the agreement in the presence of the QFA General Secretary Mansoor Al Ansari, Executive Director of the QFA President office Ali Dawood, QFA Director of Operations of National Teams Department Ahmed Abbassi, FACR General Secretary Rudolf Řepka, FACR Chairman of the League Football Association (LFA) Dušan Svoboda and General Director of STES (FACR's marketing partner) Martin Malík.
The upcoming period will witness the establishment of a joint working group which will study the legal frameworks in detail in order to activate the agreement. A plan of action will also be prepared, which will include a report on the most important achievements, schedule of activities and events that will bring together the two associations in the coming period.
The agreement will also contribute to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
General Secretary of the QFA, Mansoor Al Ansari of QFA commented: 'There is a large scope of work we can cooperate in through this cooperation agreement.
General Secretary of the FACR, Rudolf Řepka of FACR commented: 'We would like to really thank QFA for their great hospitality and for their invitation for the November friendly games.
'We would like to cooperate more closely with the QFA for the mutual benefit of both associations. In the MoU, we will be starting our cooperation by focusing on the senior national teams as it is competitive and seeing that Qatar as the hosts of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. We will also exchange knowledge regarding coaching education, youth national teams. We will be planning visits between the two associations where QFA can come to Czech Republic and we can come to Qatar, he added.
