While the Prime Minister restructures her cabinet, Mordaunt, the 44 years old Work and Pensions Minister, is presently in 10 Downing Street.
Penny Mordaunt was, same as Ms. Patel, with Conservatives who backed Leave in the EU Referendum campaign. Ms. Mordaunt has taken upon the promotion due to Ms. Patel's resignation over unsanctioned meetings with Israeli officials, that she described herself as "lacking transparency."
