27 deaths by bus accident in Pakistan

(MENAFN) According to police and rescuers, a bus carrying pilgrims to a religious assembly has fallen into a cleft in Pakistan, leading to over 27 deaths and other injuries.

Police say heavy smog which has led to unclear visibility on highways all over the country seems to be the reason of the incident.

A rescue official said nearly 50 people were hurt during the accident and were sent to hospitals.

According to governmental statistics, bad roads, poorly sustained vehicles and lousy traffic safety laws lead to several accidents and over 5,000 deaths in the country each year.
