(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, Nov 9 (KUNA) -- Turkish authorities arrested a total of 111 suspects of the so-called Islamic State (IS) in Ankara on Thursday, police sources said.
The arrest came during an operation launched by Ankara Police Department's anti-terrorism branch with the participation of 1,500 officers, after arrest warrants were issued for 245 suspects, the sources were quoted as saying by Turkey's Anadolu news agency.
Out of 245 suspects, a total of 111 suspects were arrested in simultaneous operations at 250 locations in Sincan, Etimesgut, and Cubuk districts, the sources added.
Meanwhile, seven IS suspects were arrested on Thursday in another counter-terror operation in the eastern province of Bingol, they said. (end) ta.mt
