FANA holds its 45th General Assembly conference in Amman


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov.9 (Petra) -- Director General of Jordan News Agency, Petra, Faisal al-Shboul, Thursday discussed the agenda of the 45th General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA), scheduled to be held Nov. 22-23 in Amman.

During their two-day meeting, the directors of Arab news agencies will tackle a number of issues listed on the agenda, including electing the federation's president and two of his vice presidents for the next session.

Participants will also discuss activities taken by the federation's presidency and the secretariat general during the previous session, including "Best Report, Best Photo Award" .

The meeting will also focus on the Economic Report, including the "Economic News Gathering Unit at the Arab News Agencies" and steps taken to hold the current conference. Technical issues including FANA's website as well as news exchange will be also discussed during the gathering. The directors will also review means of boosting cooperation among Arab news agencies .

FANA, was established in includes the national news agencies of 18 Arab countries. It aims to strengthen professional ties, provide advice, encourage exchange of experiences and develop professional performance as well media and technical cooperation among member agencies.
