Two police officers stabbed by extremist near Parliament in Tunisia

(MENAFN) An Islamic extremist stabbed two police officers on Wednesday near the headquarters of Tunisia's Parliament, the authorities said, describing it as an unusually bold attack that disturbed the capital.

The authorities said that the 25-year-old attacker was known to them for radicalism, thus, he was immediately arrested, according to a statement by the Interior Ministry.

One of the officers was transferred to the intensive care unit of the nearest hospital after being stabbed in the neck, whilst the other rushed to back him and was stabbed in the forehead, thankfully the injury was not severe, the Interior ministry said.
