Israel approves building of 240 new settlement units in East Jerusalem


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, Nov.9 (Petra) - The Israeli occupation authorities late Wednesday approved building permits for around 240 new settler units in the occupied East Jerusalem, according to the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Thursday.

Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem city Meir Turjeman told the newspaper that the occupation municipality approved the construction of 150 new housing units in the Ramat Shlomo settlement, north of the city, which is inhabited by a large majority of Jewish extremists, adding that 90 other units will be also constructed in the Gilo settlement".
