Paid parking introduced by Dubai's Jumeirah Lake Towers

(MENAFN) An agreement to introduce paid parking to the area by year-end has been signed between Jumeirah Lakes Towers developer Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) and Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The deal will see the management and operation of visitor parking shifted across two phases, in which the first phase for 2017 will cover 1,936 parking slots, which will be classified into different zones depending on the needs of the area.

A further 460 slots will be provided in the second stage up to 2020.

The area was one of the few in Dubai where parking was free.
