Former UAE ambassador to Japan Saeed Ali Al Nowais honoured
(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Former UAE ambassador to Japan, Saeed Ali Al Nowais, has been honoured by the government of Japan for his contributions in fostering relations between the two countries.
Al Nowais has been honoured with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver by the Emperor of Japan.
Al Nowais was invited to the presentation ceremony on October 7 in Japan, hosted by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Al Nowais was the UAE Ambassador to Japan for 10 years since 2004, and contributed to promoting friendly relations and mutual understanding between two countries. He is now the ambassador of the UAE to the Netherlands.
Among his valuable contributions, Al Nowais strengthened relationships in diplomatic and economic sectors between Japan and the UAE, supporting mutual visit by high-level delegations and cooperating Japanese companies which would like to start their businesses in the UAE.
Also, Al Nowais supported UAE students who were studying in Japan, following which student exchanges between two countries accelerated. As a result, the number of UAE students studying in Japan is increasing now.
