Washington State Senate: Democrats quest to win control

(MENAFN) After Democratic candidate Manka Dhingra was given a premature lead on Tuesday for a state Senate seat, Washington State's Democrats are seeking to win complete control over the state's government.

The Seattle Times reported Tuesday evening that Dhingra was ahead by ten points of Republican Jinyoung Lee Englund in the fiercely contested race.

State Senate Democrats are presently missing one seat of a majority, as Dhingra's win would provide the party control of the governor's seat, the state House and the state Senate. However, according to press, days may pass until the release of the final outcome.
