The State of Qatar is committed to all counterterrorism measures and its financing said Brig. Ibrahim Khalil Al Muhannadi, Member of the National Anti-terrorism Committee (NATC) and the Chief of the Advisory Unit in the Security Committee at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.

'The State of Qatar strives to take proactive steps in line with measures to combat and finance terrorism in accordance with its obligations to the international and regional community.Al Muhannadi outlined.

Qatar has begun to implement this by completing its legislative frameworks and its internal legal structure by issuing legislation on the fight against terrorism and its financing like the National Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Committee he added.

Addressing the First Major Event Safety and Security Conference, currently in session in Doha, Al Muhannadi said that Qatar enjoys stability and security and makes a determined effort to promote this.

The Financial Information Unit is one of the most important mechanisms of the Committee in Qatar's efforts to combat money-laundering and the financing of illegal activities, especially after its accession of the Egmont Group, Al Muhannadi stressed.

In the field of international cooperation, Brig. Al Muhannadi affirmed that the State of Qatar has ratified all international conventions on terrorism and its financing, all of which have entered into force under the national legislation ratifying these conventions.

He stressed the absolute commitment of Qatar to the provisions of these conventions and other related conventions such as the Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, the Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction.

In the area of regional and bilateral cooperation, Qatar is a key player in the regional conventions on terrorism and its financing at the Arab and Gulf levels, Al Muhannadi said.

He added Qatar strives to ensure efficiency, to link between electronic security and terrorism, noting that the Security Committee of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy formed a special unit for electronic security. 'We are working hard to coordinate the process of assessing the threats of electronic penetration within the State in accordance with the assessments of threats from the outside.

Qatar is working on implementing training plans in coordination with specialized colleges and institutes in the world to prepare and qualify cadres and carry out a series of training visits at the regional and international levels, aiming at ensuring a safe tournament in 2022 Al Muhannadi underlined, noting that Qatar is keen to ensure the success of its experience in hosting the 2022 World Cup in a safe environment at the organizational and security levels.
