Suspects detained in Switzerland and France

(MENAFN) According to French officials, 10 people in France and Switzerland have been detained in counterterrorism operations for being suspected of using encrypted social networks to plan for a potential attack.

According to a French judicial official, the procedures were part of an inspection, opened in July, centering the attention on suspicious activity by a person in Switzerland using the Telegram network.

The officials said investigators of counterterrorism have arrested 9 people in France and one in Switzerland in operations intended to clarify details of the suspected plan.

The suspect of Switzerland made contacts with people in France on social networks about undetermined violent activities, as his plan didn't seem completely developed, but authorities acted out of concern.
