(MENAFN) The leading airline company Qatar Airways will buy a near 10 percent stake of Cathy Pacific for USD622 million, which will grant the Middle Eastern airline more access to China's productive aviation market.
Following the deal above, Cathay Pacific shares lost ground in Hong Kong on Monday.
This will mark the first known investment by a Middle Eastern airline into an East Asian carrier.
China is the world's fastest growing aviation market and is expected to become the largest by the year 2022.
