Mobile ship repair unit set by Oman drydock

(MENAFN) State-owned Oman Drydock Company (ODC) plans to set up a mobile ship repair unit that can be dispatched to give support to vessels in distress or in need of non-drydocking standard repairs, Oman Observer reported.

Named 'Port Repair & On-Voyage Services' Unit, it will be equipped to respond to requests for technical assistance at any of Oman's commercial ports at Suhar, Muscat and Salalah, the report said.

The unit is able to perform its repairs whether the vessel is at the port or crossing waters in and around the Sultanate, according to Chief Executive Officer of ODC Stephan Aumnn.
