Young Qatari designers dominate at Heya

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Emerging Qatari designers are a key focus at the 12th Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition, taking place at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre until November 7, the organisers have said.

The event has been "very positively received by visitors for the quality and variety of collections from Qatari entrepreneurs, as well as the dynamism of forums and workshops on offer for visitors", according to a press statement.
'It is fantastic to see the quality of home-grown design talent, showcasing local expertise, entrepreneurship and vision, Design Creationz's spokesperson Esraa Abel said."This year, we have strengthened the number of Qatari designers participating at Heya, with a 25% increase since the last edition."
The new partnerships with local fashion and business institutes have added significant value for exhibitors and visitors, according to Abel. 'It is great to see Heya evolve from a modest fashion shopping destination to a platform for designers to learn and engage with industry experts and their peers, the spokesperson noted.

Moudi al-Harbi from Moudi Boutique said, 'Heya is a very good opportunity to get to know designers from the region, as well as here in Qatar. It serves as a great platform to reflect the unique fashion styles and quality of Arabic designs to the public.
Displaying their collection for the first time, Pooja Adam, spokesperson for QLabel, said: 'The experience has been really beneficial for an upcoming fashion label new to the market. We have met with influencers, buyers and have got lots of new potential clients, we are glad we have participated in Heya 12.
At Heya on Monday, visitors can take part in a variety of engaging workshops designed to nurture local designers, including ‘VCU: The Mood & Design Board' and ‘Makeup Consultation with Wojooh'.
In addition, Qatar's popular social media fashion influencers Fatma al-Ahmed, Creativity with Kay and Yezenia Navarro will host a forum for guests on ‘Sketching Your Blogging Success: The Dos and Don'ts'. The session aims to lay the right foundations and will encourage listeners to blog correctly, sharing their own experiences.
Held under the patronage of HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, visitors are encouraged to attend and browse a variety of more than 150 abaya and modest fashion brands from emerging and established designers at Heya.
