(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR, 5 November: The Saudi government has arrested 11 princes and serving and former ministers and business tycoons on charges of corruption.
According to Saudi Arabian media, the action has been taken by an anti-corruption commission headed by Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman. The arrested people include four serving and over 30 former ministers. The commission formed by King Salman enjoys the powers of arrests, investigations against corrupt people and imposing travel bans.
The commission said it will also conduct fresh investigations into the 2009 flood in Jeddah and death of several people due to Mers virus in 2012.
King Salman bin Abdul Aziz has also removed the National Security Guards and Navy chiefs from their positions.
These steps are part of the new policy of the Saudi government to bring changes in the government system according to modern needs.
