Saudi King expresses condemnation of New York terrorist act


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Nov 5 (KUNA) -- Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud has expressed condemnation of Saudi Arabia of the terrorist act that took place in New York City which contradicts with all religious values and humanitarian principles.
In a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, the king expressed the Kingdom's preparedness to help counter such evil acts, affirming that Riyadh would support the United States' measures to combat terrorism to preserve its national security.
He stressed on the importance of continuing to exert more international efforts to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and to dry up its sources, expressing at the same time the Kingdom's condolences to the American people and to families of the victims, wishing speedy recovery for the wounded.
For his part, President Trump expressed great appreciation for the condolences of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his noble feelings, praising the role played by the Kingdom in spreading moderation and combating extremism.
At least eight people died and several others were wounded when a lone attacker rammed his car into pedestrians before going on a shooting spree against civilians in the US city, last week. (end) mdm.tg
