Jordan- No Women Allowed inside Shop in Madaba
(MENAFN- Alghad Newspaper)
MADABA —AlGhad— A supermarket in Madaba, South of Amman, put up signs today, Saturday, prohibiting women of any age from entering the shop, allowing only men, 18 of age and above, to enter. When asked about it, the shop-owner told AlGhad that the shop is too cramped up and small, as he tried to explain why he put up the signs.
The shop typically accommodated all customers indiscriminately, before today, as it seems the signs came as a surprise to women residents of the neighbourhood.
Residents of the neighbourhood and beyond were provoked by the seemingly 'extreme measure the owner took, as they lined up in front of the store.
