Oman- Fixed telephone subscriptions grow 14.5% by September end: NCSI


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The total number of fixed telephone line subscriptions grew by 14.5 per cent at the end of September compared to December last year.

In September this year, the number of fixed telephone line subscriptions reached 483,854 from 422,518 at the end of December 2016, according to the statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

In September this year, the total number of mobile phone subscriptions increased by 3.6 per cent to 7,112,605 from 6,866,260 at the end of December 2016.

Of the total mobile phone services subscriptions, there were 642,208 post-paid subscriptions and 6,470,397 pre-paid subscriptions in September, the NCSI data showed. The number of active mobile broadband subscriptions at the end of September reached 4,448,886 compared to 3,937,861 at the end of December 2016.

The Internet service subscriptions increased by 24.3 per cent to 335,126 in September compared to 269,549 at the end of December 2016.
