Turkish air strikes hit 36 PKK targets in N. Iraq


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, Nov 4 (KUNA) -- Turkish warplanes have carried out 36 targeted attacks on separatist Kurdish organization (the PKK) in northern Iraq, said Turkey's General Staff on Saturday.

Turkish jets hit 36 targets which were camps, weapons positions, arms dumps, and shelters in Zap, Avasin - Basyan, Mt. Qandil, Sinat-Haftanin, Gara, Hakurk, and Metina regions, it added.

Airstrikes on PKK targets in southeastern Turkey and northern Iraq, where the terror group has its main base in the Mt. Qandil region near the Iranian border, have been carried out regularly since July 2015, when the PKK resumed its armed campaign, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.(end) ta.mk.hs
