Saudi Arabia denounces UN support to Houthis

(MENAFN) A UN report which revealed that the United Nations had granted a USD14 million to an affiliate of Al-Houthi militias, the Yemeni Ministry of Education, has been strongly condemned by Saudi Arabia, whereas the militias are planting thousands of land mines inside Yemen on the Saudi border.

It called on the UN to reconsider the report to reflect the facts that had been ignored and urged the commitment of all UN organs to the relevant Security Council resolutions, including resolution 2216, describing the UN support to Al- Houthi coup militias was "unjustifiable or unacceptable".

The rogue militias of Al-Houthi and Saleh had planted and deployed at least 50,000 mines on the Saudi-Yemeni border as well as dozens of thousands of mines in populated Yemeni cities and villages as well as naval mines into the Red Sea near the Saudi border, according to Saudi Arabia.
