Million BMW vehicles recalled in North America


(MENAFN) BMW has started recalling around 1m cars in North America, saying they have two separate issues that could lead to fire.

One issue that affects the BMW 3 series models from 2006-2011, which have wiring that could cause overheating, while the other issue affects some 2007-2011 models that have defective valve heater.

The firm will be informing the owners next month, and will be replacing the defective pieces free of charge.

According to the notification on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration site, around 700,000 cars are affected, but the company's final count will be possibly less than 1.4m.
