Saudi Arabia Bans Importing Live Birds from Bulgaria due to Bird Flu

Riyadh, Safar 13, 1439, Nov 2, 2017, SPA -- The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced a temporary ban on importation of live birds, hatching eggs and chicks from Dobrich Province, Bulgaria, due to highly pathogenic avian influenza.
The ministry said that the ban was based on a warning issued by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) which reports on the emergence of cases of bird flu in that country.
