Event to promote tourism flow from Qatar to India held

The Embassy of India in association with Indian Business & Professionals Council (IBPC) organised an event ‘Tourism for All', for promoting tourist flow from Qatar to India. It was conducted as a part of the tourism promotion drive by the Government of India titled ‘Paryatan Parv' organised across the country.
'The objective is to draw focus on the benefits of tourism, showcase the cultural diversity of the country and reinforce the principle of ‘Tourism for All' and to drive home the message to the public, travel industry and the hospitality industries, said P Kumaran, the Ambassador of India.
The event was convened in the format of brainstorming to invoke responses, comments and suggestions from the audience, especially tour operators, travel agents and other related stakeholders in Qatar to share their experiences. The event found a very enthusiastic audience putting forward many suggestion and ways to overcome existing constraints and bottlenecks and to increase the flow of visitors from Qatar to India.
The Ambassador, while offering the current statistics on different aspects of India tourism, urged the related industries and stakeholders to encourage and attract more tourists to visit from Qatar to India.
He also assured to take the suggestions put forward by the audience such as easing of visa procedures, increase online and digital marketing, educating and certifying travel operators to offer attractive tour packages involving medical tourism, wellness programmes, Ayurveda, yoga, life style therapies, Islamic and other religious monuments, luxury trains, etc., to the concerned authorities in India.
IBPC President KM Varghese while welcoming audience expressed his satisfaction at the overwhelming attendance, encouraged them to send pertinent suggestions through e-mail to Embassy or IBPC.
Surinder Bhagat, the Coordinating Officer of IBPC and First Secretary at the Indian Embassy emphasised that the Embassy and IBPC are always eager and open to receiving ideas and suggestions for improving the flow of tourists from Qatar and take possible steps with the authorities concerned to assist the stake holders of travel and hospitality industry in their endeavours.
The event which saw many travel industry veterans, businessmen, community leaders and was compered by Sumit Malhotra the General Secretary and concluded by MS Bukhari, the Chairman of Advisory Council of IBPC.
