Mervyn Silva's 'Peoples Party' to contest LG elections

Former Minister Mervyn Silva today announced that his political party, the 'Peoples Party' will contest the Local Government (LG) elections.
Silva told reporters that his party will not support any other political party but will contest alone.
He also said that anyone can join his political party if they accept the policies of the party. (Colombo Gazette)
