(MENAFN- Gulf Times) How Women Work (HWW) will hold two separate workshops on November 4 and 5. The aim is to promote a healthy, balanced, and sustainable lifestyle.
HWW, a non-profit organisation working for the welfare of working women in Qatar, has teamed up with Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition to inspire and educate more women with their ninth annual programme, which will be open to all ladies for free during the fashion exhibition.
HWW Head Evridiki Iliaki, told Community that the programme encourages all women in Qatar to make positive differences to their working lives and to those around them.
IIiaki, a psychology consultant by profession, said, 'The complimentary workshops, part of the Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition, will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 4pm at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC). We encourage ladies to be there at 3:30pm.
'The workshop called the Happy Leader programme is open to all women attending the Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition. It is vital nowadays to inspire greater professional development but also fulfilling careers and a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
The HWW head noted: 'The complimentary workshops aim to remind all women that they can have it all, they can be professionals, wives, and mothers and also have the elegant and fashionable lifestyle they want. At the end of each workshop, the HWW will announce a very special prize for all the attendees.
IIiaki added, 'The two short workshops, of 20 minutes each, will be on self-development. Also Arabic translation of the lectures and training materials will be made available. The first workshop called ‘The Leader in Me' will be held on Saturday and will highlight how all women hide a leader inside, the concept of leadership as it could be any woman, even the ones who manage to run successfully a loving household. But its major role will be for women to get inspiration on the spot, of what is their true purpose, how that defines their career purpose and how that will sooner or later bring them to leadership.
'The second workshop on Sunday is titled ‘Attracting Wealth and Success', which the HWW is well-known for. Its successful workshops on leadership, confidence, and attracting wealth are well-known here. This workshop will focus on the understanding that the change of mindset plays the most important role in attracting all good things in life.
She further said, 'Besides the two workshops, the visiting women will have an opportunity to have one-to-one counselling sessions. This will provide them a chance to express their issues and find better solutions. We also provide the opportunity of online counselling as well.
Speaking about the work and accomplishments that the HWW has made so far, she said, 'The organisation has supported more than 7,300 women in Qatar to grow and succeed since its inception in 2009. The HWW is one of the founding members of Qatar's Professional Women's Network, Global Entrepreneurship Week Qatar and the Circle of Pearl mentoring programme, maintaining close ties with many organisations that are working towards the advancement of women in Qatar. The HWW has hosted joint projects with other organisations such as the Social Development Centre, Qatar Cancer Society, International Chamber of Commerce, Exxon Mobil Women's Association, EMRA'A and more.
'The two workshops are part of the educational awareness at the Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition with the participation of Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC), Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar and other reputable organisations, she said, adding, 'About 25 percent of our participants are entrepreneurs and executives, and 50 to 60 percent are employees in different major corporations. The remaining 15 to 25 percent are made up out of graduate students and job seekers.
Sharing details about her, IIiaki said, 'I was born and brought up in Greece. I started working for women welfare when I was only 18. I first joined Red Cross in Greece and worked on a project related to violence within families. I am a psychology graduate and have been in Qatar for two years. I became head of the HWW in March 2016 and been doing welfare work sine then.
