Afghanistan- 15 killed, 27 wounded in Parwan tanker explosion


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) (Pajhwok): Fifteen people were burnt to death and 27 others sustained injuries on Wednesday night when the bus they were travelling in caught fire after an explosion ripped through a nearby fuel tankers in the capital of central Parwan province

A sticky bomb attached to one of the tanker went off in Charikar at about 7:30pm, Parwan Public Director Abdul Khalil Musaddiq told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said the explosion left on fire the transport bus passing through the area, killing eight passengers and injuring 22 others, who had been taken to the provincial civil hospital. He the tankers were en route to from the north.

Parwan police chief Mohammad Zaman Mamozai confirmed the incident and said the death toll might be higher. But the governor's spokesperson put the toll at least 15 killed and 27 wounded. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
