(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- World Food Dayis celebrated every year around the world onOctober 16in honour of the date of the founding of Food and Agriculture Organizationof theUnited Nationsin 1945.
The World Food Day theme for 2017 is 'Change the future ofmigration. Invest infood securityandrural development.' ISWKi planned an event named ' My Dad, Super Chef' to mark World Food Day. Fathers were requested to team up with their wards and prepare various cuisines. Chef Anil and chef Raspal from the famous restaurant 'Just Grilled' judged the competition.
The venue for the event was the ISWKi groundand the time limit was 45 minutes in which 30 minutes were allotted for preparation and 15 minutes for presentation. The classes had been divided into different international cuisines: K1 and K2: Chinese, grade 1 and 2: Thai, grade 3 and 4: Italian and grade 5 to 7: Mexican.
The winner in K1 and K2 category (Kitchen Destroyers) was Aryaman, that from grade 1 and 2 (Cooking Creators) was Gautam Kanth and those from grade 3 and 4 (VT Cafeteria) were Trushant and Agastya. For grades 5, 6 and 7, the overall winner was Shrutika. A consolation prize was given to Cailyn in the Fatto Con Amore category.
