Dubai announces the connection of 453 solar installations on roof tops

(MENAFN) The connection of 453 solar installations on the roofs of buildings in the emirates has been announced by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) as part of its Shams initiative.

With a total capacity of 18.7MW for the photovoltaic panels, they will be installed on the roofs of residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

Dubai's electricity grid will be importing any excess power that is not used by the premises.

By the year 2030, DEWA plans to have solar panels on every building in the emirate.
