MES Indian School won the overall championship in boys' and girls' categories in the CBSE Qatar Cluster Volleyball tournament held at Ideal Indian School on October 25 to 26.
Out of four categories, MES won three finals and a runner-up position. The under-17 boys' team won against Ideal Indian School in two straight sets by scoring 25-18 and 25-23.
The MES under-19 boys' team also won in similar fashion defeating Ideal Indian School by scoring 25-18, 25-20.
Similarly, in the under-19 girls' category, MES won against Birla Public School in straight set to clinch the title, while the MES under-17 girls' volleyball team ended up as the first runner-up in the tournament.
Now, with this win, the boys' under-17 and under-19 as well as the girls' under-19 are qualified for the nationals to be held in Delhi.
Salim J Nadaf, and Shani, teachers, Physical Education Department, coached the boys' and girls' teams respectively.
