An adaptation plan for climate change in Jordan

(MENAFN)Jordan is launching it's first National Adaptation Plan (NAP) that will include methods in which the country will boost its capacity to adapt to climate change in different sectors, according to experts in the field.

The German Development Cooperation (GIZ) organized a workshop that was attended by representatives of the public sector and local and international organizations and institutions, in which they discussed plans to integrate gender and vulnerable groups in the NAP process.

The two-day workshop requires participants to suggest ideas on how to develop a "Gender and Vulnerable Groups Action Plan" in the NAP process.

Director of the Climate Change Department at the Ministry of Environment Dina Kassbi pointed out the importance of integrating gender and vulnerable groups in climate change policies.
