Australian refugees protest over Manus Island center closure

(MENAFN) Refugees taken by Australia in Papua New Guinea have started legal stroke over closing a detention center.

After a PNG court decided the center of Manus Island was unconstitutional, it is planned to close on Tuesday.

Captives say that closing it will violate their human rights by depriving them from access to water, electric power and security.

Refugees said that captives wanted to peacefully protest, and claimed that after security guards left, locals started stealing the compound.
