Trump call out for transgender military ban rejected

(MENAFN) President Trump's effort to ban transgender individuals from the military has been obstructed for the time being by US federal judge. The District Judge, Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, has ruled against Trump's issued presidential memo that requested an overturn of Obama administration policy.

Ms. Kollar-Kotelly's ruling takes back US military to its status, permitting transgender people to either serve or be recruited in the military. The judge believes that Trump's purpose for the ban wasn't based on facts, thus was rejected by the military.

The judge has taken upon a case which was filed in August by unidentified plaintiffs against Trump's presidential memo, she has accepted the case stating that the president's concerns were "not genuinely based on legitimate concerns regarding military effectiveness or budget constraints, but are instead driven by a desire to express disapproval of transgender people generally."
