24 firms bag Qatar Sustainability Awards

Qatar Green Building Council, a member of Qatar Foundation, yesterday announced winners of Qatar Sustainability Awards-2017.
A total of 24 firms bagged the awards that aim to recognise the efforts, commitment, and achievements of individuals, institutions, and organisations in furthering sustainable development and environmental protection in Qatar and internationally.
Msheireb Properties won the ‘Green Government Building' Award for their Diwan Annex, Al Waab Plastics Factory won the ‘Green Building Product' Award for their CPVC Piped and Fittings and Qatar Foundation won the ‘Green Building Technology' Award for their PV Stand-Alone Irrigation System.
Arab Engineering Bureau won the ‘Green Interior Fit-out' Award for their Qatar Museums Tower Fit-out. Hamad Bin Khalifa University won the ‘Green Research by a Student' Award for their Policy Recommendations for Sustainable Water Resources Management in Qatar.
ConocoPhilips Water Technology LTD won the ‘Green Research by a Professional' Award for their Sustainable Application of Osmotic Concentration to Reduce Wastewater Disposal Volumes from Qatari Gas Fields. Mِvenpick Hotel West Bay Doha won the ‘Green Hotel' Award, Evergreen Organics Café won the ‘Green Restaurant' Award, Birla Public School won the ‘School Sustainability Initiative' Award for their Birlasphere.
Northwestern University in Qatar won the ‘University Sustainability Initiative' Award for their Building Doha: A Multimedia Website, Catalum won the ‘Corporate Sustainability Initiative' Award for their Environmental Development Application.
RAF Foundation won the ‘Green Education Building' Award for their Green School in Darfur, Sudan, Qatar Foundation won the ‘Green Office Building' Award for their MEEZA Vault 2
Ministry of Culture and Sports won the ‘Government Sustainability Initiative' Award for their Big Ministry, Small Changes, Great Result, Qur'anic Botanic Garden won the ‘NGO Sustainability Initiative' Award for their Outreach Program.
Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute QEERI won the ‘TADMUR Special Award' for their Self-Sustainable District Cooling and Desalination, Msheireb Properties won the ‘Green Commercial Building' Award for their Cultural Forum.
KEO International Consultants won the ‘Green Residential Building' Award for their Wafra Tower, Nehmeh won the ‘Green Corporate' Award and Salini Impregilo won the ‘Green Building Contractor' Award.
Arab Engineering Bureau won the ‘Green Building Consultant' Award, Mosanada Facilities Management Services won the ‘Facility Management Organization' Award, Bedaya Center won the ‘SME Sustainability Initiative' Award for their Dukan Bedaya and Tarsheed won the ‘QGBC Special Award' The second edition of the annual awards ceremony took place yesterday, as part of Qatar Sustainability Week 2017 and was held alongside the Qatar Green Building Conference
