Oil export capacity is enhanced in the southern ports of Iraq


(MENAFN)In a ministry statement, Oil Minister Jabar Al-Luaibihas confirmed that the oil export capacity of the southern ports in Iraq has increased by 900,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 4.6 million bpd after building a new floating terminal in the Gulf.

"Oil export capacity have reached unprecedented levels after adding a new single point mooring with an additional export capacity of 900,000 bpd." oil minister Jabar Al-Luaibihas stated onn sunday.

There are now four operational single point moorings (SPMs) in
Iraq that load oil tankers.

Last week OPEC member Iraq improved oil exports from the southern Basra region to reach 200,000 bpd after the shortfall from the northern Kirkuk fields.
