Wildlife conference: extra protection of endangered species
(MENAFN) A wildlife conference backed by the UN has voted for extra protections for 33 endangered species such as giraffes, chimpanzees, leopards and whale sharks.
The group's executive secretary said: "It has helped to convey the message that the future of migratory wildlife is integral to our own future and that we all have the responsibility to act."
Governments will also work on reducing the harmful effects of marine debris, noise pollution and climate change on migrating animals.
Over one thousand representatives from 129 countries discussed the protection of species at the conference.
